Terms of Service

Last updated: October 31, 2026

These Terms govern your use of ParallelButler, a macOS menu-bar application that monitors the state of AI coding agents you run on your own Mac. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

01 The service

ParallelButler (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a desktop utility that observes the lifecycle of supported command-line AI coding agents and surfaces their status — running, done, or waiting — in your macOS menu bar, with notifications and one-click navigation back to each agent’s window. The app runs locally on your machine. It is a productivity aid, not a critical system, and is provided to help you keep track of work you initiate yourself.

The app is developed and sold by Hangzhou Qiantang Bibuling Information Technology Service Studio (杭州市钱塘区笔不灵信息技术服务工作室(个体工商户)), a sole proprietorship operated by Shan Jiang (“Bibuling Studio”).

02 Your license to use the app

Subject to these Terms and an active trial, subscription, or lifetime entitlement, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on up to three Macs that you own or control and that are used primarily by you, for personal or commercial purposes. A license is for one person; please don’t share it with others. To keep track of this, a licensed app reports a short record of each Mac it runs on (see the Privacy Policy).

You may not: (a) resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the app; (b) reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent its licensing or technical protections except where such restriction is prohibited by law; or (c) use the app to violate any law or the terms of any third-party service.

03 Plans, trial & billing

04 Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel a subscription at any time; it remains active until the end of the current paid period and does not renew thereafter. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy and via Paddle. The 30-day trial exists so you can evaluate the app before paying.

05 Third-party agents & services

The app integrates with third-party AI coding agents (such as Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, and others) and payment infrastructure. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for those third parties. Your use of each agent or service is governed by that party’s own terms. The app only observes locally available status signals and configures integration hooks when you explicitly ask it to.

06 Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its intended operation, or use it to facilitate unlawful activity. The app exposes a local HTTP listener bound only to 127.0.0.1 for receiving status from agents on your own machine; you are responsible for the security of your device.

07 Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content are owned by Bibuling Studio and protected by applicable laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you beyond the limited license in Section 02.

08 Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect every agent state. It is a supplementary signal, not a guarantee.

09 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bibuling Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or work, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10 Changes

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. Material changes to the Terms will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11 Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@parallelbutler.app.

In short ParallelButler is a small local menu-bar tool sold via Paddle, with a 30-day trial. One license is for one person on up to three of your own Macs; don’t share, resell, or reverse-engineer it, and understand it’s a helpful signal — not a warranty.
